What Is Annual Tax Settlement? 

An annual tax settlement (also called yearly tax return) is a formal summary of your income and taxes paid during the calendar year, submitted to the tax authorities. In Poland, this is known as PIT (Personal Income Tax). 

Depending on your employment status or business activity, you may need to file: 

PIT-37
Employees, contractors (based on PIT-11) 
PIT-36 or PIT-36L 
Sole proprietors / self-employed 
PIT-28

When to File Annual Tax Returns? 

Filing period: 15 February to 30 April (each year, for income from the previous year) 
Late submission may result in fines or interest 
Refunds for overpaid tax are usually processed within 45–90 days
